COVID-19 Safety Protocols and Guidelines

Liberty Youth Baseball COVID-19 Safety Protocols and Guidelines

Liberty families, we are posting this to clear up any confusion regarding our safety protocols and guidelines for the 2021 Spring season.  Please remember that this is for the safety of our children and our community. We are making sure we return to play in the safest manner possible during this pandemic. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and diligence.

****UPDATED May 25th****

  • Prior to any practice or game your child must complete their health screening and clear ALL guidelines.   No symptoms in the last 48 hours
  • fever
  • cough
  • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  •  fatigue
  • muscle or body aches
  • headaches
  • loss of taste or smell
  • sore throat
  • congestion or runny nose
  • nausea or vomiting
  • diarrhea.

*This health screening also applies to all members of the household.

The following parameters are set by state, county and local authorities. We do not have control over the requirements and must follow all guidelines without exception. We are a non-profit volunteer organization trying to get our kids back to playing baseball safely.

  • Masks are NOT required for outdoor sports during non-school hours. It is still recommended for those who are not vaccinated and/or are a high risk.
  • We are asking the players to wear masks only when in the dugout.  We will also ask that the opposing team to wear masks while in the dugout at our home fields, Lenox, West Union and Liberty.
  • Socially distance 6 feet.  Seating is limited so please be mindful and respectful of the areas allowed for spectators.
  • There are capacity restrictions for each field based on county, Washington County is "Lower Risk"  and  our maximum capacity will be updated at each field.

Travel Advisory and guidelines for Oregon

  • Non-essential travel within the state for unvaccinated people (including children) monitor for symptoms and quarantine for 14 days at the first sign of any symptom. Report any exposure to coaches and teammates.
  • International travel is not recommended for any unvaccinated person.  If you travel with your child out of the country, you must quarantine for 7 days.  Your child will not be able to participate in any practices or games for 7 days upon their return.  Please be honest and remember that SAFETY is our priority.
  • Travel for vaccinated people does not require quarantine. A vaccinated person is someone who has received both doses and has surpassed 14 days from the final dose.

Positive COVID-19 test and exposure guidelines

  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19 you must remain quarantined for an additional 10 days from the 1st symptom and at least 24 hours without fever and no fever reducing medication.
  • If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 you must quarantine for 14 days from the exposure.

We are all in this together, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to president@libertybaseball.net or stefanielawhead@gmail.com
